I loaded it. You can see the priming compound clearly and the anvil seems fine.

I've seen this with Wolff SRM primers several times. One or two out of a hundred will be a different color sometimes. I've never had one not fire, so I never really worried about it. But curiosity got the best of me this time.

Thanks for sharing that info. I am not sure I would have even noticed it.

a manufacturing expediency. The anvil is omitted in this view for clarity."

Looks like a manufacturing hickup.
Given the cost of a single primer and the fact I usually buy bulk I probably would have just disposed of it.
But it's probably fine.
Let us know if it works out.
