I believe it’s all in the translations. It was originally Holy Friday.
The good part about it is we know how it ends, with Jesus Resurrection and our Salvation.

It's the day those get to eat whatever they gave up for lent.
Because of the gift of salvation that resulted from this day. The Lord was mistreated and executed despite committing no crimes...but we still call it Good, because He endured it for us, and if not, we'd be lost. That is my interpretation.
The Good that was done by Christ in being the sacrifice to atone for our sins.
All Fridays are good. TGIF!
Because what happened to Christ was for the “good” of all mankind.
