Raising the debt ceiling, does not raise our debt.
Your president
Technical that's 100% accurate.
Raising the debt ceiling, does not raise our debt.
Your president
Not really. The debt ceiling has been raised 94 times since 1944 and it tends to happen without notice. In fact, under the right president, it's thought to be a good thing as it was under Reagan in 1981. He needed it to balance his tax cuts. Same with Bush the Younger who raised it more often than his successor has.In years past such an embarrassment would cause such a fervent response by the American people that those in congress would be hard pressed to run for re election. now it is cause for a joke or an entertaining skit on Saturday Night Live!
