Posted by a non military ration eating person. Y'all remember ham n eggs chopped? It was only palatable with a bottle of Tabasco.

Not sure if its the same one, but the omelette w/ham was just as bad. Any poor sucker who got stuck with one was given everyone else's bottle of tobasco in sympathy.

When the big one comes. it’ll be the Spam-stocked prepper who survives.
Don't forget the corned beef hash, the roast beef hash, those 4oz. cans of smoked ham, canned chicken, canned tuna, and the king of all - the canned sardines!

I don't know about that road kill stuff ...... The car that ran over it might have recently run over a skunk or it might have been a farm truck fresh out of the pasture ...

I think it was Art Donovan (former NFL offensive lineman) who told about his experience with Spam during WWII. It was during his time in the post-war occupation force in Japan, IIRC, when he “found” some cases of Spam. He dug a hole and stashed it under his tent, thinking he’d be set for quite some time.

A general found out that the Spam was missing, so he addressed the issue, and told them that the case would either be anonymously returned that night or the culprit had better eat it all that night, because they were going to turn the camp upside down the next day, and it would be bad news for the person who had it.

He said that as much as he liked Spam, he didn’t think he could eat that much in one sitting, so he took it back.
