Stay where you are. Get hurt. File disabilty. Take whatever's left after the lawyers cut, move to Arkansas, buy 5 acres, build a shop, R & R auto transmissions. Get a fishing pole. Or....

Serially, retired Tinker 12 yrs ago. Don't be the guy that thinks he has to put in 60 hrs a week to keep his job. They'll catch on and treat you like $^%%! Be your own man and let 'em all know they can kiss you azz and you'll not end up a washed up brain dead gov't worker. (ie: don't take the easy road)
Im not really following you on your tinker narrative.

Go tinker if you’re interested they need good people and will take care of you. Plus the application process is a little long through USA jobs... get started on that now. I could not cover my Wife on insurance through my past employer's health insurance program. I went to work for the Feds and it has been a life changer. Now I feel like a king with my new health insurance and benefits. Good luck to you

Well that's not really for everybody. I just let Tinker know that I didn't need them. They needed me. Depends on the division and upper mgmt you're working for as to how you need to deal with the job.

I understand. I don't expect it to be a cake walk or some sort of a fairytale. I work pretty hard at making myself valuable and ensuring that I am needed In the workplace. I'll definitely keep my eyes and ears open, as I do anywhere.

Only downside I see at Tinker is the requirement to be fully defenseless to and from work every day, or to park off-base, which I would imagine is a fracking PITA.

Sadly that's a major thing for me, these days.

I agree. Definitely a big deal to myself as well. But that's about my only reservation, aside from furloghs.

I prefer private industry over public sector. Which provides more opportunity for performance? Private sector rewards performance more, period.
