I know but I prefer the more traditional look of a one piece wood stock and rear peep site. It is what I grew up with and I prefer it to the tacticool look. I have a 6 position stock on it now in place of the factory but would still prefer something like a Mini 30. Heck I could be happy with an SKS-M if it had a rear peep site.

Also, Yugo's for the most part do NOT have chrome lined barrels.

+1 on the Saiga. I have one in .223,that I converted to a Tactical rifle,and I love it.

For a $K , you could buy 2 WASR's..and some ammo to test them out.

And some ammo to shootem with, problems, you have inter-changeable parts

If one is your fave , sell the other and get some more ammo

Just cant go wrong ...

I have owned Arsenal AK's and have no complaints. I will probably get another somewhere down the road. The Bulgarians are just south of 1k the last time I looked.

I've looked up Century Arms C39 and I've handled it and for around $600 to $700 it seems great.
I've heard the Chinese ones are also decent.
Now if I had the money I'd get me a Polish AK or Izshmat (I think that's how you spell it, the main AK producer for the Russian military) AK.
