1 15 oz can of Ranch Style Pinto Beans With Jalapeno Peppers per 3 to 4 pounds of meat. Just enough to add a little texture and heat. It's easy to go overboard on beans to where the beans dominate the taste and texture.

I usually put some black beans and kidney beans in my chili, but not too many. If it is going on a hot dog or for dip, then no beans.

This is the only exception to the rule that Chili always contains beans (possible exception on a chili cheese burger, or if you happen to be pouring it over just a plate of bacon, or pork-chops).
