I'm not a Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist or what ever. I celebrate the birth of Christ. I live in a country that was founded on Christan principles. Seeings how one of those principles is "Freedom of Religion".

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully the Constitution will prevent anyone frm "replacing" someone else's religion.
Why should anyone be offended even if Christianity became a minority religion? Isn't freedom of religion applicable even then?
Merry Christmas

No one is replacing anyone's religion. I was merely speaking of the prevailing holiday greetings.

The whole point of Christmas is celebrating the birth of Christ. This is a religious event and I think it should be recognized as one. If your belief does not acknowledge Christmas then dont celebrate it.

Happy Holidays isn't necessarily PC. Alot of people are wishing you Happy Holidays for the whole season, including Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, etc. I don't find this offensive. Now, I would find it offensive if someone told me I couldn't say Merry Christmas, but I really think that's another matter. In the end, I think we have to be sure not to be as easily offended as the pansies on the left.

Very well said. ESPECIALLY that last part.

I think you really have to be lookin for a reason to be offended when you get angry at someone for wishing you a happy holiday season.

But you are exactly correct. If I'm not ALLOWED to say Merry Christmas... then we're gonna fight!

People get offended if you say Happy Holidays. People get offended if you say Merry Christmas. People forget what the birth of Christ represents and turn the whole thing into one big pissing contest. It's not about caring for each other, it's about making someone else lose. It'll take a Festivus miracle to get everyone together. I'm pulling out the aluminum pole on the 23rd and me and mine are having paella for dinner. We're going to have an airing of grievances over the paella and then we'll perform feats of strength.

Festivus for the rest of us!

+1 on the pissing contest. I say "Merry Christmas", but I have heard "Happy Holidays" since I was a kid in the 50's and I just take it a a contraction for all the merries and happies that come around that time of the year instead of some secular conspiracy. (Which includes my wife's birthday, by the way.)

"Merry Christmas"

For what it's worth - the federal holiday that offends the most people in my local community is Columbus Day, but we still like the day off from work!

That's not what the whole season is about.

Many other religious holidays are placed around the Winter Solstice. It seems that solstices and equinoxes are popular times of year.

So long as this nation is overwhelmingly Christian, no one should be offended by Merry Christmas. Don't like it? Breed until you're the majority, then replace it. Till then, get over yourself! :D

And other groups will be hard-pressed to outbreed the influx of Catholics our country is seeing, if you catch my drift :)
