I want a Sig P239 in 9mm. I don't really know why. I've never shot one only handled them at the gunshop. So I guess my question is what do you guys think of Sigs? I know they make quality firearms. I'm a 1911 guy so I don't know how much I'll like the DA/SA trigger. I thought I just wanted to try something different and the feeling would pass but it hasn't.:screwy:

A SIG P239 is one of my favorite handguns. When I carry a pair of 9's it my primary. Light recoil, very accurate and very easy to conceal with a good holster. It's a rather heavy handgun for it's size and some people don't like the feel of the grip. I used to think that a Crimson Trace was the best grip but finally tried a Hogue G-10 and that's my choice. All my SIGs are DAK trigger equipped and I find I like that better than the DA/SA. It really likes CorBon 115+P DPX and that's my ammo of choice.

Sigs are awesome products, but the bore axis is too high. I've enjoyed shooting them a great deal, and really like the mechanism for de-cocking, but I couldn't own one.

I have a Sig P226R that is a big bucket of awesome sauce. It's hard to put into words what I'm talking about, but the feel of this Sig just oozes quality. I understand that my comments are unqualified because I haven't stated my background or experience, but all of the above is too much to put into a single post. The bottom line is that I really like my P226R in 9mm. Once you try a Sig you'll know what I'm talking about.

Ahhh, Virginia Beach...my first love! My first pistol purchase was in Virginia and it was the P226 in 9mm. It was 1987 and I had already been carrying a 1911 for about a year and a half. I had just completed Gunsite and every time I went to the gun shop I was drawn to both the Browning Hi-power and the Sig. Something about that de-cocker felt natural with the strong right thumb I had acquired from functioning that 1911 safety. - Fast forward - I have 5 Sigs at the present time and have owned as many as 9 at one time. While I still love the quality of a sig and enjoy shooting them I have found other pistols to fit my needs better for competition or carry.

I guess I'm a Sig snob...it's the only brand of handgun I will own any longer, and I have owned more than a few different brands. I would suggest looking for an older gently used folded steel slide made in Germany pistol to start with...quality, attention to detail, care in manufacturing and accuracy is what you will own if you buy one. I own a 1995 P228 in 9mm, a 1996 P229 in 357Sig/40S&W and a 1991 P230 in .380. I wouldn't say there is anything special about the trio above, they were all mass produced and common, what I like is they are reasonably priced, will gobble any ammo I put through them, extremely easy to maintain and very accurate...I can't ask for more than that.
