I carry different guns sometimes; one of two different J-Frames, one of two different Glocks, or sometimes maybe a CZ, and on the rare occasion, I even tote a vintage PPK/s. So? I might buy another single-stack 9mm to throw in the mix. You wouldn't belive the holsters I have!

I thought rotation was more about ammo and magazines. relieving the pressure on mag springs every once in a while.
shooting up the ammo you been carrying a while and replacing it with new.

+2... I rotate mags weekly... Shoot up carry ammo and replace every three months. This quarter it's Hornady Zombie-Max (Green TAP) ((just thought I'd throw that in))

I pick my carry gun every morning based on what I'm wearing and what I feel like carrying. I don't rotate on any kind of schedule, it's all dependent on what I feel like when I wake up in the morning.

I don't have a rotation policy or habit on handguns or ammo.
I'm confortable with anything I might carry.
I practice regularly with all, minimum of monthly.
My ammo's life expectency is very short, it's for shooting.

I rotate between two:

Rohrbaugh R9S (9mm) pocket carry

Seecamp .380 when pockets are too small for the R9 (ie. Dress slacks)

Both are DAO and similar in ergonomics

Don't really rotate to say, but do carry depending on what mood I'm in and what I'm wearing. Primary is Xd sub but when I go to range I take my handgun's to practice with. I do not have the same guns through out the house so practicing with each one allow me not to get rusty on how they operate. They are like kids each one is a little different but you love each one of them.

Might I suggest you read the following before you spend that hard earned money on more high dollar ammo!!!
http://www.okshooters.com/showthread.php?87034-Ammunition-Storage

I used to rotate ammo until I started shooting 1970s Russian surplus ammunition. The ammunition is over 40 years and goes bang every time. God only knows where that stuff had been stored, Murmansk? After that I realized the expensive duty ammunition I buy and store in a climate controlled environment must be fine to keep for awhile as well. I enjoyed reading your post as you have the experience to back up what I already though to be true.

The one thing I do not ever do, is re-chamber a round that has already been chambered for carry usage. I have measured rounds that I chambered multiple times and watched the OAL grow. So if I clear a weapon with a live round, I just spare that round for practice.

When i clean one i dont cary it until its been to the range ,50 shots. mostly same platform Glock, XD, M&P.
When i carry the 1911 i train with it for 1 week to get used to the safety.
Revolver is thumbs locked so train with it too, at least drawing and grip.
