EDIT: Oh crap. It passed the senate with only 8 voting against it and none of them were ours.

I just knew that the deal would be made in the last hours of the year so they look like they have been really working hard to get the best deal possible, knowing full well spending wouldn't be touched. We are going to crash and crash hard. That's why they want out guns.

I suggest everyone just model your personal finances off the US Government. Feel free to spend $1 for every 60 cents you make. Run up your credit cards, get loans for stuff you can't afford, just go for it. When payment finally comes due, just direct your creditors to Ben Bernanke and tell them he'll print some money to pay for everything.

...this is even more insane when you figure in that the "Cuts" aren't even cuts. They are reductions of future increases. So in all actuality, it is all increased revenue and no actual reduction of real spending.
