NK will blink and back down but the US will placate him behind the scenes. he'll come out of it with more aid, less sanctions, a potentially restarted nuke reactor all while looking like a war god to his people.

He knows he doesn't stand a chance if war broke out but he also knows that the world and the US can't afford for one to break out.

This is a well calculated plan and in the end he will get everything that he is sets out to get.

I don't think so. This kid was schooled abroad he knows the world other than North Korea. He's a brand-new dictator and he wants to build his own legacy and in order to do that he's going to have to take something over-the-top But i think he knows where the line is.

I could be wrong. Of course. I hope not ! But if you look at modern-day dictators they're all bluster and they all do stuff to get what they want or need. They rarely pick on the big boys and they usually only pick on their own people. This guy's no different.
He barely has a pot to piss in and two reluctant allies.

And as for lifting his sanctions and giving him more aid well that's not out of the question at all. We do some infuriating things in the name of stability.

China is moving forces to keep N Korea happy for the moment. I would imagine in the background they are working with the US, Russia and Great Britain to figure out how we are going to wipe them out. Sure China could cut US funding but the US and all of our allies could easily just ban imports and exports from china and that country would crumble to nothing within 6 months. The chinese know this and they dont want it at all. They definately arent afraid of war but they know not to get too involved.

My whole thought is why doesnt the US get with Russia and China and say ok we are taking out these strategic targets (mostly military installations and Nuclear facilities) and then we will back off we are going to teach this kid to STFU real fast and they will be quiet for another 50 years. Which honestly could be what they are doing right now.
