I was talking to the same guy to whom you were talking. He made it sound like he thought it was stupid that someone poaching deer should go to jail. You tracking with me now?

I am. I had a feeling you were, but wasn't 100% sure. Poachers deserve to rot in a cell like the lowlifes they are.

Good grief. I am not paying for the cost to keep someone in jail for shooting a stupid deer. That is ridiculous. Jail is for people that are a threat to society, not as a deterrent for every petty crime out there. Fine the hell out of them, make them pay financially for that they have done, which takes the burden off of Joe Taxpayer and puts it on Joe Dumbasspoacher.

I would be ok with that IF they made them pay, and that was only for first time offenders. The second offense, and any others beyond that show a lack of caring what the laws say.

If you look at most poachers stories out there, they are repeat offenders, and often times they don't care what direction they shoot in, or what is behind/around their target. At times they are a danger to the public.

I have figured for years that the "locals" are hunting our place when we're not here, but I haven't caught anyone on camera yet. The cellular game cams are a game changer. I can literally watch what goes on from my couch 550 miles away.
