I received this message a few minutes ago from my Farm Bureau agent. This isn't one of those scare tactics, they are actively trying to gain control over how you use your land under the Clean Water Act. If your land has ponds or develops water flows during heavy rain, then the .gov could require you to follow their proceedures on caring for your own land. This is a serious problem that can lead to fines and seizures. Please help secure our freedoms.

If the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers get their way, virtually all land that gets wet or has flow during rainfall may be regulated! These two agencies are working together to expand their authority over your farming/ranching operation. If the proposed rule is adopted, many farming and ranching practices could require government approval through a complex process of federal permitting and regulations.

Farm Bureau maintains that Congress clearly intended regulations under the Clean Water Act to focus on navigable waters, not ponds, ditches or puddles that occur on land during a heavy rainstorm. Farm Bureau is calling on the EPA and the Corps to “Ditch the Rule” by voluntarily withdrawing it.
Your written comments on this issue are extremely important (don’t worry, it’s easy). Please go to the Oklahoma Farm Bureau website at www.okfarmbureau.org to submit comments.
Please submit your comments at your earliest convenience. The comment period has been extended to October 20, however, I urge you to submit your comments ASAP! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or 405-523-2437. Thank you!

You may wish to personalize your comments in the “editable text” box by:
• Describing some features of your farm—ditches, drainage ways, and grassed waterways —that will likely be considered Waters of the U.S. under the EPA and the Corps’ proposed rule.
• Expressing your concern about the EPA and the Corps’ jurisdiction on your farm which could restrict or even prohibit farming or ranching activities in or near ditches, washes or isolated wetlands.
• Expressing your concern that the proposed rule will create roadblocks to ordinary land-use activities, like fencing, spraying for weeds or insects, or discing, and will require you to follow special rules or get permits.

Were could I find a piece of land that would not get wet or have some amount of water flow when it rained or rained heavy? I wonder if they are going to try to find all that ocean front property in Arizona?

If people think that the govt. any govt, fed, state or local will not confiscate and prosecute over water I recommend they look into whats going on in Colorado and research the doctrine of prior appropriation.

This must be stopped. It is completely tyrannical.

There is basically no land that doesn't have eventual drainage into a creek, river or lake.
Even deserts have flash flooding ending up downstream.
They want to put methane capturing devices on our horses and cows to prevent "global warming" that we know doesn't exist.

I spent over 5k putting in a repairan buffer on a creek bank voluntarily three years ago.
Three rows of trees along the bank for erosion control, and 90' native grass buffer on each side of the trees to buffer runoff and slow down any runoff of fertilizer, etc into the waterway.
It's called soil conservation. Its voluntary.

So, if I have a couple years of bad crops, and can't pay for a mandated improvement, I get fined?
Do they then put in the improvement at tax payer expense? Or, just leave it while greedily pocketing the money to spend on social programs?
Sounds like a back door tax to me.

Get ready, it's going to get worse!
