I thought the premise of the movie was how becoming the most prolific sniper affected Kyle, and how it affected those around him; as sell as how he became the man he was. I would have been disappointed if it was all about being behind the glass and slaying folks.

Yes on this. Wife just got home from work. Three of the women she works with daily had went to see the show too. They all three told the wife that the same thing happened at each of the three's departing at the end of the show, utter silence, not a word was heard. I would have been disappointed if it were all about his shooting as well, I liked that it showed the effects of that job does to a person.

The problem with the Chris Kyle story is it's hard to know how much of it is true. He told so many lies, and not just "you look good in that dress" kind of lies, the "I shot and killed two carjackers" when it never happened kind of lies. And when a man will tell a lie like that, it very much calls into question his claim of the number of kills he had. And the people he killed.

Confirmed kills, must have a witness.

I'm assuming you are in agreement with Michael Moore that said snipers are cowards?

Have you ever served in a combat zone where snipers were deployed?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

During the revolutionary war, "sharpshooters" were used to defeat the British method of lining up on the battle field and killing the other side until their desire to fight had them flee?

Help me on this.

I was very impressed with the movie...wow....and like mentioned before, the theater was super quiet after it let out.
Dave Ramsey talked about going to the movie, and how nobody left before the credits ended. He said not only was it utterly quiet, but when they left, nobody was jostling for position to get out, and everybody seemed more considerate of everyone else.

Sounds like this might be my "once every three years" go to a theater movie...

How you inferred any thoughts I have about snipers from my post is a mystery. As I damn sure didn't imply any, and I god damn sure didn't imply I think they are cowards. I do not.
Chris Kyle claimed to have 160 confirmed kills and about that many more unconfirmed kills. As for the confirmed kills, the Pentagon has released his service records, but they have never listed his kills, confirmed or not.
He also claimed that he killed 30 looters from the roof of the Superdome in New Orleans. Total lie. He claimed he punched Jesse Ventura. Total lie that cost his estate over a million dollar judgement. He lied about killing two carjackers. Chris Kyle's biggest admirer was Chris Kyle.
He very well may have been the hero he so desperately wanted everyone to believe he was. But he was a flawed man that for some reason felt he needed to lie to make his legend even bigger than it really was.

I would bet a stack of cash you wouldn't say that to his face. ******* always spout off at the mouth when the odds of catching a beating from the one they speak of are gone. Etadik, Ace.

Reread your first post. Read it real hard objectively and tell me that you didn't call him an abject liar about his war record.

You opined about the truth of the Chris Kyle story in general.

Perhaps you would post a link to the military records of Kyle that shows he has no kills?

Oh for God's sake. Show he has no kills? How does your mind twist what I said into no kills. As for showing his military records, you are making my point. We simply do not know how many kills he had. There is no doubt he had kills, many kills. We do know he made up several stories regarding kills whole-cloth. Why you and the others feel the need to white knight a known lair is your issue. Is it because you bought into the story, his story, and are now so invested you can't see straight? Hate to tell you this, sometimes when people write a book about themselves, they make some of it up.

Seems you can't handle the truth. Sorry about that. Didn't mean to piss in your bowl of patriotism with the truth.

I guess all the American Sniper haters/detractors are throwing anything against the wall to see if it will stick. Now it is the dreaded "Fake Baby" gambit that they are trying to use. I have seen a number of TV shows where you know that at fake baby was used in the scene and nothing was ever said about them that I am aware of.
