I picked this disc up today for the atv. It's not to heavy but there's room to add weight. Being light it will be easier to cross the 2 creeks I bought it for. Hopefully it will work good enough to get some wheat and radishes in.

That little disk will work. Like you said, you'll have to add a lot of weight. Possibly steel, and not concrete blocks if your soil is hard. What you will also find is that with a single gang like that, all the dirt will be thrown to the side. Tandem disks with gangs in the rear throw the dirt back to the middle.

I have one similar to that that I used way back in the day, and I ended up with low areas where I disked that gathered water and drowned the plants. Solution was to put in narrow strips, and doing a half lap with one side of the gang at high speed that threw the dirt back to the middle. You will see what I mean when you start using it.

It's stays pretty moist where I'll use it at. I'm doing just about an acre. I sprayed it this past weekend. I might try to use some 45lb Olympic weight to load it down. Or possibly salt blocks, the ones we carried in there were unbelievably heavy! Lol! Dennis do you think a harrow and cultivator would even it out?

I've got two or three 4' spring tooth harrows laying around if you need one Bowhunter, they've not been used in years. They pull really great behind an ATV and work really good along with a disc like you picked up.

^^^^^^^^^Those work well, but pick up lot of litter that the chopped weeds leave. Advantage is that you can set them light and use them as a rake.
Spring tooth will help level the ground, but you will still need to throw the dirt back to the middle as much as possible.
