I may be wrong, but did I see that the insurance commissioner said to fight with your insurance company over damages, as the earthquakes may NOT be an act of nature/God and require earthquake insurance?

I was walking through the front room the other day, and thought that's what I heard?

I read somewhere that some insurance accepts earthquakes whether or not they are man made. Oklahoma is now the Earthquake capital of the world from what i understand.

Great, first tornadoes, now earthquakes.

If this global warming stuff keeps up maybe we can add flooding to the list.

Two earthquakes this morning in Edmond - I could hear it coming and then the house rattled. The USGS has it listed as a 4.3 followed by a 3.4 with the epicenters on the east side around I-35 and Covell. That is starting to get too close for me.

Bryant/Memorial area here. Felt stronger than any other since we moved here in 2010 but I don't think we've ever had one with an epicenter so close either.

Yep. I don't remember any epicenter that close before. When I get back to the office next week I'm going to ask our GIS group to dig up the information on disposal wells in that area.

If you're referring to greed, you are probably right.

Greed is God in Oklahoma. We worship wealth here. Fortunes are our faith.

I'm only seeing 9 injection wells in that area and not one of them are disposal wells. They are old, shallow (about 6000') enhanced recovery wells. They aren't causing any earthquakes unless they've been going on since the '90s when they were drilled.
