Me and a buddy are wanting to start reloading over the summer and the topic of what brass is the best often comes up. We have a pretty good pile of stuff weve collected over the years but im sure wel want more. What brands do yall prefer?

For ultimate accuracy Lapua or Norma ,, many like Nosler,, never used that.
Now that is refering to .308 and .243.

If you can give up a tenth or so on group size winchester cases have always shot best groups (besides the expensive stuff) in my 243 and .308.
Bagged virgin winchester is a fail.. i do not think what they sell now is any good . Best to get the loaded ammo and make that your brass.

Remington is very good brass Lasts a long time.
During my testing FLS remington lasted longer than Lapya.. it went 52 reloads.

My .223 likes LC and federals best so far.. still trying to find a great load for that gun with lapua cases.
My 30-06 gets fed only remington,, it just loves them.

I don't shoot anything for precision anymore. If it's left on the ground! I pick it up, process it, shoot it, repeat till it wears out. Doesn't matter what brand it is.

I do over think things.
I even have favorites for 45acp Remington and winchester.
But I shoot mine farther than I should. That is when you start to notice what brass is best.
Wife shot a gallon milk jug at 130 yards on the 3rd try with the Hi-Point 45acp first 2 shots tossed grass on the jug.
I can't remember if that was the 452" hornady 250gr XTP or the lead 265 gr bullet I had in it for her. Yes heavies for the 45acp.

The farther you shoot the more difference it makes.

I pick up whatever is left on the range floor. Have to look a little close sometimes but it was free. I shoot it until it fails. Starline is nice but I never want to pay for it and too afraid of losing it. I am only loading pistol right now so I might think different if I was loading rifle.
