I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm saying why are we not putting more effort into more dangerous threats right here in our backyard first and foremost. Those threats that ARE killing mass amounts of US citizens. ISIS needs dealt with, yes.
I'll even go out on a limb and say we likely have lost more troops fighting those bassturds than losses here in the US from there terrorist plots.
Can we agree on that?
So its kinda a conundrum eh?

We can agree on that. Part of the issue with severely violent criminal gangs is wrapped up in the immigration battle, which doesn't help matters. We also have places like Chicago, which refuse to adequately address gang violence because of the racial component, yet push back HARD against federal government intervention. In these cases, playing politics for the sake of scoring points is deadly. :(

I never said ISIS isnt a world wide problem, I know it is but to be making all the rage continuously and fear mongering about it here in the US is just stupid. And if you think chasing ISIS isnt about oil, you are as well.
If my kid wanted to go to a concert in Manchester, I'd be more concerned about the car ride to and from the event. Why do you suppose that is ol wise one?
Let me help, because your odds of death in a car accident are higher by leaps and bounds than getting blown up by a mooslim.
Oh and I was never talking about Manchester, those Englanders couldnt get rid of a bad case of roaches, let alone Muslim Extremist. I was talking about in the USA and I think, no, I know, we have a little better intel on terrorist than all of Europe.
How many people were in the venue in Manchester? Do you know?

One of my major concerns - as well as many other's concerns I would wager - is the loss of our security and heretofore lost freedoms along with hits on our rights by actions taken by the Feral Government under the guise of "combating terrorism." Those actions are by far a greater threat to this nation than being killed by a family member or some street MS13 thug. I can defend against and shoot back at those two. You might be cool with - even support - those infringements by the Feral Government but I am not in the least.

No one can ever defeat or prevent terror but terrorists can be destroyed, and will not cost us one lick of freedom and not one hit on our rights. Nothing short of annihilating the terrorists such as acts of law that place undue burdens upon us (The Patriot Act for one) will do. Such acts only make us weaker in defense from our own government and do nothing to lessen or eliminate any threat to our security.

I agree with you 110% but I dare not even go that far with my argument because I'm having trouble passing off the basic facts first. lol

Curious what freedoms and rights we have lost in the last 16+ years...

The right to not have your metadata collected by the government, the right to not have the NSA spy on you without a warrant, the right to travel in border states without being stopped randomly by border patrol to check "your papers", the right to deposit $5000 into a bank and not have the FBI follow up to make sure you're not on a terror watch list, the right to board a plane without such an invasive search which turns out to be useless anyway because TSA fails at finding the bomb 90% of the time.... want me to go on?

Enumerated rights.

Spying on domestic communication, over public airwaves, is hardly something new to the patriot act. No knock warrants predate it as well.

Those whose timescales include 9-11 are simpletons apparently. Thanks for the additional statistics and color graphics. A pity that I am too uneducated to understand them.
