No, you're mostly wrong. The closest you are to right is you must file a 5320.20 before transporting a machinegun across state lines. None of the other items on your list are regulated. BTW, it's not a permit. It's a tax stamp you purchase. It never expires and requires no renewal.
Thank you for the info. Slowly, this old addled brain keeps learning new things. So you are not required to keep Class III weapons secured in a locked gun safe, transport in a locked container, and undergo periodic inspections by the ATF?

Well it's obvious you don't understand the 2nd Amendment (or the NFA, or FOPA, or...), so it's difficult to take you serious when you're posts are based on erroneous beliefs and emotions. :(
Then perhaps you should point out to me (in a civil manner) why you consider my beliefs erroneous and maybe, just maybe also consider that my beliefs may have some merit.

So the Dallas cop shooter was just exercising his rights to attack and fight what he saw as an oppressive and unfair local government then? And you are ok with it ?

Cops are civil servants, not government officials. We have not reached the point as a society where we as a whole agree that we need to remove our government from power, but if/when we reach that point, we need the weaponry to accomplish the task. How would of our founding fathers have fared in the Revolutionary War if the Kings of England had stripped them of their rights to own weapons and all that we had to fight with were spears?

Never. That I keep mine in a safe and transport it in a locked container is entirely voluntary.

Apologies for being strident, but this is a situation I've been through before with FOPA and the 94 AWB. The rampant use of misinformation and erroneous "facts" are used as cover by unscrupulous media and politicians to get away with eroding the Constitution. It must be forcefully and stridently opposed.

NFA owners overwhelmingly exemplify the best of gun owners. They go through the hoops to obtain NFA items and because of this, generally understand the laws and regulations better. They also take pride in properly maintaining those items safely and securely. As I've stated earlier, I'm OK with making bump fire stocks NFA items, but only in exchange for repealing Hughes. The only reason bump fire stocks exist is because of Hughes. It only makes sense to repeal it if you're going to heavily regulate these stocks.

It's pretty sad that 11 people on this forum voted yes on the poll. If that many people on here are in favor of crap knee jerk emotional legislation like this, we are completely screwed with the general public. BTW--why do you need a hunting rifle? They sell meat, pork and poultry at the grocery store.

it wouldn't be called the Revolutionary War, probably something along the lines of "The Colonial Scuffle," or something
