I don't know if it has been discussed before, could bumpfire stocks be put under "Any Other Weapon-AOW"? I know there is only a $5 fee, but I don't know too much more as far as background checks/etc.

We have not reached the point as a society where we as a whole agree that we need to remove our government from power, but if/when we reach that point, we need the weaponry to accomplish the task. How would of our founding fathers have fared in the Revolutionary War if the Kings of England had stripped them of their rights to own weapons and all that we had to fight with were spears?
Okay, I'll buy six or eight aircraft carriers if you'll buy twenty to thirty nuclear submarines. We'll need 4000 or 5000 tanks, too, so start recruiting your friends. I have a cousin who can buy us a squadron of B1s and B2s, an aunt who is good for two full squadrons of F16s, and a uncle with an artillery division or two to spare. If you know of someone with an extra mechanized brigade or two sitting around, recruit them, too. I'm just glad we won't have to fight the evil gov. with a few AR-15s.

As there is no precedent, yes.

Not sure if serious...

If a person has paid their debt to society, their rights should be restored.

The point was in a strict interpretation of the 2nd amendamnt they are never to be infringed? You are open to a bend in the interpretation when then they are in jail ........(because it’s common sense) that’s the point you are missing

Cops are civil servants, not government officials. Lmao , they are part of local governments and enforce local laws , ...so when we fought the war of independence did we physically fight the government officials? Hell no, we fought their enforcers in this case their military.

I know for a fact you are smarter than this ......... or used to be

Why are we arguing amongst ourselves about some plastic attachment that serves no practical purpose, and has no bearing on defending us against an evil government?

We've got much bigger issues to defend.

Rights carry responsibilities, and it seems that a very large portion of society has forgotten about self control, so we end up with laws, and new interpretations of the Constitution.

Because we don't restrict the rights of every American because of one evil dude. This is a fight worth fighting, whether you look down your nose at bumpstocks and the people that use them or not. You know, like snooty, tweed wearing double gun owners with leather toe tabs look down on us black rifle owners? :(

So what do we have give up on the next mass shooting?

Your idea on citizen armories is interesting, but the founders were all too familiar with warring against a tyrannical government. They wanted us armed with whatever was available not what one could carry.

I'm counting to ten....1........2.......3......4......Breathe,...breathe.....breathe....

didn't make it to ten. Surely one cannot be this naive in 2017.

"According to a copy of the bill text provided to ABC, it would go into effect 180 days after its passage.

“It shall be unlawful for any person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a trigger crank, a bump-fire device or any part, combination of parts, component, device, attachment or accessory that is designed or functions to accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle but not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machine gun,” the bill states"

Nah, no way any of that could be misconstrued...

It amazes me how many of you are saying "I dont care for them so go ahead and ban them" or "its a small price to pay".
The right is ALWAYS the one to cave...to give that inch. It never comes back...and we usually lose more than that inch we gave.

All you guys must have missed where I said I was against banning them but what I WANT to happen is different than what I THINK will happen. So in analyzing what I THINK will happen, I HOPE the damage is minimal...so for example, if they ban bump stocks instead of reinstate the assault weapons ban....got it fellas? There are a lot of people who are turncoating and I am not one of them...But if the reality is I have a choice A or B and not C, then I'm hoping the best scenario between choice A or B, doesn't mean I like it any.

Also, I think if corporations could have private armies/air forces they would...I could see physical wars between them such as Apple & Google, etc...those people are cut throat. I'm okay with cartels such as them not having F-15's LOL...But I have been meaning to watch the former TV series Jericho which has some similar scenario I guess?
