I watched the COX video and read the relevant acts. I don't reach the same conclusion as Blannelberry in what looks like another of his self-serving "bash the NRA" articles.
The bill to fix NICS puts the blame where it belongs: the failure of the government to support the NICS database. 6 of the last 7 mass murderers bought a gun legally, but SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE PROHIBITED LIST. We, the public, accepted the NICS but the government has failed to maintain and use it properly. ALL the new gun regulations are out of the fix NICS bill, thanks to the influence of the NRA.
Reading the current text of the bill, Fix NICS is still ********. Maybe you have a updated version?

I’m calling these scum bags and telling them to cancel my life membership. I don’t want to be a part of that pathetic organization anymore. I wish all the members would switch to the GOA. Sadly though, no matter what the NRA does, people will still send them their money.

Why should there even be considerations for a fix NICS bill? If anyone thinks for one second the government agencies won't try and abuse the system to get more funding they are blind. How do we need more laws to make people do the jobs they are already supposed to do? Of course the NRA Was going to cave and support this crap. As for ERPO act it will certainly be abused, How many people have had protective orders filed against them based on false accusations with no repercussions for the person making false claims.
text from the proposed ERPO act states" Petitioners who knowingly file petitions that are“frivolous, unreasonable, or without foundation”will be penalized by the court." NO mention of what that is, but it should be a stiff enough penalty to dissuade abuse of the system.
Of course We all know the laws aren't meant to stop criminals, they get guns without all the paperwork and asking government permission.

Going to be nice when someone has a beef with you, then tell the Sheriff you threatened them, and a whole posse of deputies shows up to collect every gun and round of ammunition you've got. They'd have a lot of trips in and out of my house to manage it, but they'll have plenty of time to shoot it all off and play with my guns while I spend years and thousands of dollars fighting the courts to get my possessions back.

All while the "accuser" laughs his ass off at all the trouble he caused me. I mean, how can you punish someone when it's a "he said/she said" conversation that led to the Protective Order? Not exactly any proof, pretty easy to really mess up someone's day when you get into a tiff with them.

Just wait for the abuse. Thanks NRA. We can't even lock up the people who are legitimately crazy and dangerous (and believe me, I have personal experience), so we're just gonna expand that and not bother locking people up with due process and legal findings, we're just gonna show up and take away their property based on hearsay. Great f*****g idea.

After watching the video again i find it odd how that scumbag Cox says more gun laws aren't the answer but please urge your congress people to pass these new gun control bills (essentially one is just a confiscation act) that we agree with.
IN the very same video he says we know this won't stop criminals from getting guns since they ignore the law anyhow.
Was about to sign up for a life membership, so glad i was made aware of this in time to help me save that money.

The gun grabbers really hate the NRA and welcome any help that you guys give them in weakening the NRA. They know the power that the NRA has in Washington and have launched a fresh attack to vilify our most powerful pro gun voice. The NRA is not perfect but is still our best ally. I for one have just renewed my membership. I strongly support them. I say that it would be better to support them and tell the NRA leadership about the things that you disagree with. If you tear them down you are working with the gun grabbers to destroy the organization that does have the loudest pro gun voice. Just my two cents.
