Look, cowboy, the blue states pay more to the government and red states receive more. It’s not an argument, it’s a factual observation. I don’t really have an opinion about it.

Is it more per capita, or just more because the population is greater in blue states? Do the red states get more per capita, or is it due to military bases(that serve the entire country, by the way) and other such confounding factors? I'm just looking for some clarity beyond any blanket statement, and beyond taxation verses "benefit".

Looking at these links, there is one disturbing fact that glares: EVERY state receives aid from the Feral Government. Regardless of how you look at this, where the money goes or what it is for, this aid to the several states would be better spent if left in the several states instead of being taken out and filtered through some feral agency and sent back with all sorts of strings attached. We are being taxed and then bribed into stooping and bowing to the wishes of those who think they know better how we should act or spend the money they took from us to begin with if we want any of it back.

It's even worse. Much of that money is either borrowed or just simply printed.

To get back on track, population density is probably a bigger factor. But, I'll not let my original statement fall. Dependence upon government is a blanket statement which would include feral, state, county, and local government. YMMV, but it is how I see it. Out here in God's country, or the Heartland,(often referred to as Flyover Country) we are more spread out and self sufficient. We don't all have city sewage, rubbish removal, parks, public pools, and a myriad of other government services too numerous to cloud my memory with. In a dense population, government services appear necessary. That equates to a correlation between dependence upon government and higher instances of easily communicable disease.
