Avoid people: they can be dangerous and perhaps carry diseases. If you must come into contact with people, keep them at a distance (if possible) and use your social kung fu to prevent irrational behavior before it happens.
Or a self-centered Karen whose mouth is writing checks her butt can't cash.
If you're vulnerable and afraid, DON'T POKE THE BEAR. If she doesn't run her yap, none of that happens. For crying out loud, there was a plexiglas shield separating them until Karen got all Karen-y.
From the part of the video shown, maybe, but the cops are looking for the thug and the store employees say she started it. All the old lady did was ask her to pull the mask up that she was wearing under her chin.
I never said she was innocent; she pretty obviously left and came back to start the physical altercation. I'm saying they were both wrong, and the fact that one of them got the worse end of the deal doesn't negate her part in it. That stuff doesn't just happen; somebody instigated it, and dollars to donuts, if the middle-aged lady (53 ain't old unless you're wet behind the ears) didn't start running her yap, none of that happens.
Paraphrasing Dale Carnegie, the best way to win the unnecessary fight is to avoid it in the first place.
It seems unlikely she asked. Dollars-to-donuts she commanded.
I'm tired of all this "Karen" crap. To me it ain't no different than "cracker" and this old guy will bust somebody's nose if they call me a "cracker".

IMHO, those two terms aren’t at all equivalent. Calling someone a Karen is based on that person’s behavior, not some arbitrary criteria over which she has no control (like skin color).
In short, there’s a pretty simple way to avoid being called a Karen—don’t act like one.
