I hear what your saying, but that temporary lending structure isn't a balancing beam I like to be on. It seems silly to pay interest in exchange for convenience, and I don't live a lifestyle that would take advantage of rewards programs and such. I use a pre-paid visa for paying online bills and so forth, so whoever did it only got about $100. Counting myself lucky for that.
There is no interest if you pay the balance in full every month. I’ve had a Discover card for 20 years and have never paid a penny in interest.

Stuff went wrong all day yesterday at work. Nothing big, just one little hiccup after another. When I stopped for gas, smokes, and beer on the way home...my debit card was declined. What the hell?

Yeah, somebody in Florida cleared out my checking account. Ok, just an inconvenience, right? So I call the bank to refute the charges, and the automated system advertises a long wait time.. But the damn auto call back feature isn't working. Ok, no big deal. Est wait time 45 minutes. 15 min later, the auto system comes back on to advertise the call back feature that STILL doesn't work, and oh yeah..... Your wait time is now est. 67 minutes!! What the phuc?!?!

Bought a new pair of work pants that only have 5 belt loops instead of 6. Dropped the kids off at the pool this morning... And when I stood up my protac hl took a dive. PHUUUUUUCK. That's just nasty
Take it with a smile it's just one day. That is pretty much a description of my everyday. Had a work associate tell me one time " If I had your luck I would have just shot myself a long time ago" .

And this is exactly why you shouldn't own a debit card. You are out of the money until the bank figures out what they want to do.
A credit card doesn't hold up your money when fraud happens.
Yup. I had the same thing happened to me. My bank account was froze. Bills and checks bounced. Only use a credit card now. Even had that hacked from a gas station scanner. I don’t use my debit card unless I’m taking money out the ATM nowadays

Yep, we chase AA rewards points. We have enough now to fly anywhere in the world first class round trip with change left over.
Not flying though until the mask mandate BS stops.

We had many thousands of southwest reward points a few years back. Enough for several flights. Then they changed the reward points value and increased the number of points needed to fly or buy stuff. It was like hyperinflation. I ended up canceling that card after SW screwed their customers with the devaluation of the points.
The card also had a $100 a year fee to use the card. Most people don’t know, but if you use the card a lot, they can call and asked the fee to be waved. I would call and the card would be credited the $100. Ended up never paying the fee and the year I cancelled, I somehow got an extra credit for $100.

My dad once told me, "If it wasn't for bad luck, you wouldn't have any luck at all!"

OTH, so far, I haven't had any terrible luck, either.
