Planning to get back into making knives this year and I want to design something that looks traditional. Been watching Yellowstone and 1883 and now I’m all about the old stuff. Probably 3.75” blade. Natural handle material. Possibly a bolster. Slim. Anyone like this style or have pics?

I am more a Bowie knife style fan. I have a couple cheap smaller knives but I could never spend the money to get what I really wanted. About an 8 inch Bowie with stag handle and matching a skinning knife.

Something like this for the Bowie.

Ok, I'll play. Here are a couple of smaller ones around 4" or so. Both are older than I am. the one on the right is a Western made in Bolder Colorado, Bird and Trout model. Handle redone with a deer antler. Hey you said you wanted western.
The other is one my Grandad made out of an old file waaay back in the day on a forge and anvil. Don't get much more western than poundin one out with a hammer. Cheap old man used a hambone or something for a handle but don't laugh. It is one of the best knives I have for holding an edge. That old man knew what he was doing. I grab for it all the time when skinning a deer and to heck with the ugly. handy handy size.

I've always wanted a Buck folding knife pattern, blade and handle but a fixed blade instead. And round off the corners of the handle.

My second knife would be a Hogue revolver type finger grip. Not really what you are after but it is my concept.
