Sometimes you get a discount if you use AT&Ts payment plan. I bought my daughters iPhones last year on a two year plan. They will only cost me $300 each instead of the $800 each it would have cost if I bought them up front. 24 equal payments were added to my phone bill.
I bought my wife and my phones up front three years ago because there wasn’t any discount at the time.

I did like you except l walk in AT&T last year in Choctaw and tried to pay cash for 2 of those $1000.00. Samsungs S20 (?) something or others but they didn't want my money. Walk out after a few choice words with all 3 of the people in there and told Mother looks like cash don't do you any good in that place. We are still using our S8 pluses. I think they are probably 6,7 years old. Still hold a charge all day and get updates.
Basically what I heard today. He wanted to figure out what I “qualify” for. I don’t want any credit plans or payments on a cell phone. Just want to buy one and use it.

It’s time for a new phone so I looked up some models and called the local ATT location to see what they have in stock and the prices.

He said he really can’t give me a price. Basically you have to enter into some sort of payment agreement. He said it had to with new laws. Anyone know the details on this? Last year they would let you pay up front for a phone.
If AT$T tells you water's wet, feel it. That's my experience in dealing with that scum-sucking organization.

I bought a new iPhone direct from Apple recently. Use any plan you want. Easy process.
If you want an iPhone, it's generally six of one, half a dozen of the other whether you buy directly from Apple or from your wireless carrier as far as price goes. Occasionally the carrier will have a better deal, but when you buy directly from Apple, you usually get an unlocked phone and no contract, so you can keep your options open.

If you're not in a hurry and don't need the latest phone, watch Woot.com. They regularly have sales on phones, and their scratch and dent prices are hard to beat.

I found out Iphone prices are best on the AT&T web site. They can change by the hour so one has to keep up for days.
Saw a deal that offered two phones for a little over one phone and called.
Offer was only for new customers.
I "became irate" and said (truthfully) I was an AT&T customer for 45 years and was insulted I couldn't get a loyalty price equal to a new customer with zero loyalty.
After being put on hold for about 15 minutes so he could talk to a supervisor, (sure he was digging toe jam during this wait) he came back on and said his supervisor allowed us the same rate as a new customer so the sale was made.
Prices vary so much.

Don't forget best buy. They have unlocked and provider locked phones and they usually have good deals around holidays and certain times of year and with memorial day right around the corner... I know, a day of remembrance and mourning shouldn't be cheapened with sales and such, but I don't make the rules.
