Dancer, I feel your pain. A TX Roadhouse opened a year or so ago in a neighboring town, and my in-laws wanted to take us there for my wife’s birthday last year. Service was decent, but the food was mediocre at best. I don’t eat out much and was a little shocked by the prices. We were gracious to the in-laws for taking us, but my wife and I have vowed to never go back. :anyone:
We used to go to Outback for special occasions (anniversaries and birthdays), but the last time we went there we vowed not to go back there either. We’ve always like their steaks, but after we started eating the home raised beef, nothing else really come close. I’m not really fond of spending $50+/- for a meal that I can prepare better at home myself.

Here, but occasionally There.
Our summer job in Texas has been interesting if nothing else. We've ran across a number of places with exhibits or monuments or even just old stuff like a former military base and POW camp. In addition, we are seeing lots of wind and solar farms. While working roads in one area, we noticed some wind towers that had brown stuff (lubricants, likely) at the top of the tower and the front of the nacelles. Some of the older towers had multiple towers with the same appearance.

Please excuse the photos as they were taken with my cell phone instead of one of my Nikons.

We are currently home with Covid, but our next area of Texas to work will be out of Greenville, TX. From an acquaintance on another forum, I learned that Greenville has a small museum related to the cotton industry and to Audie Murphy. I definitely plan to get to that museum if at all possible to get some pictures there. Both Audie Murphy and other historical things interest me a lot.

Good morning everyone. Life can be very hard and unfair at times. On August 3rd, I lost my 21 year old son. He was a young man that didn’t know a stranger. I loved him with all my heart, but things had been rocky between us recently. On August 2nd, he came to visit with me and his sister. When he left, we hugged each other tight, and I told him that I loved him not knowing it would be the last time. My life is forever changed, and I’m trying to figure out the new normal. For the first couple of weeks, I couldn’t imagine anything worse than how I felt, but I was wrong because a cousin of mine lost her two daughters in a car accident. They were 16 and 14 years old. I’ve dreamed that my son Colton greeted his cousins in Heaven, and they are all together. Life can change so quickly. I would have happily given my life if that meant my son could live a full life, but it doesn’t work that way. Hug your loved ones, and let them know that you love them.
