Pot pies by Swanson were for rich people. We had Banquet which were smaller but cost a whole lot less. Big staples were mac 'n cheese and dry cereals. Anybody have 'milk toast' (milk over toast sprinkled with sugar)? Dinners were lima beans 'n ham or baked summer squash with margarine and salt . . . or fried liver 'n onions (on special occasions)I'd forgotten about the Swanson's chicken or beef pot pies. Put a slice of gov cheese on it. Mmmm.
