What is the state law on producing I.D. on demand from law enforcement

I dont know where everyone gets that cops are underpaid, back when i was working my employer was the city and a rookie cop after 1 year was making as much as i was after 30 years and i had no problem living within my means and i had to supply my own car, gas and ins to get back and forth to work where theirs was all free

To be fair, he also said you weren't like the other guy and acknowledged that you left CA for good reasons and, from his perspective, you seem to be blending in well in your new, freedom loving, environment. I see your point that he contradicted himself, but a lot of blame, IMO resides with the IT guy who, face it, is just here to argue. He may throw in a small concession here and there to make himself look good, but he's a troll through and through. We've had others like him on here before, I could name a few, but I won't, and they normally don't last long once their real intentions for joining become obvious.

We all articulate our thoughts in different ways, some of us more passionatly than others, so in my opion to call someone a troll for being outspoken and from California seems to be very narrow minded. Unfortunately I hear Russ the IT Guy loud and clear, because in California law enforcement is more of a threat to the safety of an honest citizens than the criminals are, because of this notion that their safety Trumps our rights!, since so many people think it's more important for all of us to give up rights over safety! No thank you, I did not sign that line they did, and if they can't handle swearing an oath and following it, then they shouldn't be there! Bottom line! Keep giving up those rights little by little and eventually this Country will be like California at best! How did giving up rights for safety workout during covid?

I don’t understand the whole “Qualified Immunity” argument. If an officer has a bad shoot, crashes into someone, uses excessive force, or many other examples, they are held accountable just like anyone else. And as far as the bicycle situation, if you break a traffic law on a bicycle you have to identify just as if you were driving a car.

Exactly. Can it be misused? Of course. It shouldn't be but it is. It also shouldn't be necessary, but it is.

Most everyone here arguing against qualified immunity is as ignorant on that issue as they are on law enforcement policies, procedures and tactics.

QI didn't keep me from getting sued for $17M by a kid that was afraid to tell his parents what happened. So he made up a dandy story...that changed several times. I was cleared by the DA's office, my department internal affairs section and an FBI investigation.

It took 2 years of my life to resolve and damaged my reputation in the community and I had no recourse against him and his family (mom and dad were felons...mom was a two-time loser trying to sue LE or EMTs) because they were deadbeats and didn't have anything.

So I wound up in US District Court for 7 days defending myself against something that didn't happen. It took the jury less than 15 mins to come back in my favor because it was so obvious this little POS and his family were lying s**tbags.

The little bastard did learn a valuable civics lesson in the end, though. He was on the hook for nearly a half million dollar judgment against him by the court for court costs, attorney fees (mine) and other costs.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of you guys that have hardons for cops would do something like that. A good portion of society is comprised of really awful people...some of them masquerading as everyday Joes. I didn't learn that on YouTube...I learned it from living among people like that for 62 years.

I could've sued him, I guess. But I wouldn't be able to get some loser, ambulance-chasing attorney like he did because there wouldn't be a payout at the end. The only thing that would accomplish is depleting my bank account for attorney fees. So you just gotta suck it up and carry on.

and thats one of the many things wrong, you should be able to sue and if they have no immediate cash or property you know damn well they get a fat "tax refund" each year and you should be able to intercept that until the judgement is paid in full.

To hell with their child tax credit bull crap, I would rather see it go to you then them.
