I'm entertaining the idea of trading my Sig 2022 9mm for a Glock 19.

I've got a G31 that I love, but would like a smaller gun for warm weather carry.

What are your opinions on the G19?

And, once again, opinions from all you Glock-haters out there in the peanut gallery are not welcome. Expected, but not welcome.

A Glock 19 is an excellent conceal carry handgun for most people. Lightweight, high capacity, ultra reliable. It is a perfectly sized polymer handgun. With the right belt and holster, you will forget you have it on you. It is my second favorite carry piece. It is also my #1 most often recommended handgun to people who ask me, "What handgun do you think I should buy?"

If you haven't shot one yet, I would encourage you to meet up with some of the Tulsa folk here on the board before you purchase. I always suggest that you shoot a particular style of gun before you buy one. Some guns will click with you and some won't. At one point, I was about to sell mine. Took it out to the range for one more session, a "goodbye" session. After the first shot at 15yds drove straight through the exact center of the target with the rest quickly following, I got the clue. I'd be an idiot to sell it. Some guns just click with the shooter. (Mind you, mine is pretty modded on the inside, but you get my general point I'm sure.)

Here's some pics to tempt you if you needed any help with the cursed disease we all suffer from. :lmfao:

The Glock 19 is a great CCW. I decided to go with a M&P9c, but my second choice is the Glock. I would have no hesitation carrying or recommending one. If you are in that market, check out the M&P, but if you're really happy with the G31, no reason to not stick with Glocks.

I actually carry a G19 in a galco ankle holster, I would've never thought it possible to carry that sized gun on your ankle, but with the right holster it's not problem.

Just don't be buying slim fit jeans ;-)

I have a G19 and I love it. I don't carry it much (if at all) because I prefer revolvers.

However, it may not be the gun for you. Like BigRed82 says, try before you buy.

I'm 6ft and 185 pounds. I don't wear baggy pants or oversized shirts that often, so my G19 prints a little on a normal day.

It's light weight, and doesn't feel too cumbersome most of the time. I use IWB at the 2 'o clock since my shirts conceal less in the back.

When I do wear an oversized shirt, and test the waters with my "old dude" jeans, it is invisible.

I really want a smaller 9mm due to the style clothes I wear.

But, for someone who is willing to wear clothes to fit their CCW needs, the G19, in my opinion, is one of the best.
