Time has come to replace my wifes truck. We're looking at used 07-09 Chevy Tahoes. Anyone own one? Any likes or dislikes? Any known issues I should be looking for on a used one?

Not sure about their pattern failures or track records. I know fuel pressure regulators were common for a long time. 10 minutes and $40 and it's fine.

There were 2 of them for sale in Altus. May check the paper out there.

fuel pressure regulators have been done away with, it is now internally regulated in the tank/pump. A few had issues with the cluster mileage display going out....not to many real common problems, just make sure you do the maintenance. Dont buy brake or power steering flushes--(BS) diffs are good to do at 50k, plugs are due at 100kk(I'd say after 80k you will see fuel mileage start dropping off), do the trans flush every 50k or so..any more questions you can PM me and I'll do my best to answer them
oh, FWW GM 100% certified tech, 2 master GM certs, Master ASE etc etc

I bought an '08 Tahoe last year. 5.3l V-8. According to the computer stuff on the dash I get about 20mpg on the highway at 70-75mph. Overall I like the vehicle. It had 21000 when I bought it, 48000 now, no problems so far.

I pulled a 21 ft camper to New Mexico last June, averaged 9.4mpg on that trip. The book rates the 5.3 to pull up to 7100 lbs, but based on performance with my camper I think that's overrated. I was probably towing 4000lbs between camper and gear.

It's very comfortable and quiet on the highway, and has a very tight turning circle for parking lots.

You may want to research the vanishing oil problem that some of the 5.3l engines have. My vehicle (an 07 Sub) goes through a quart of oil every 3k miles. No drips, no burning, and GM has no idea why it does this.

It's burning it. They may not want to admit that a new engine is burning oil, but that's where it's going. Not a brand bash, but Chevy smallblocks are known for this. Not all of them, but for whatever reason a few certain ones will drink oil even when new. They've had several different revisions on valve guide seals and rings to try to fix this issue.
