When I was a teenager Dad raised a lot of rabbits. Great lean meat. Healthier than any other domestic meat.

Fried just like chicken was our favorite way to eat them. Another way was to brown it in a skillet and then place in a baking pan covered with BBQ sauce, cover with foil and cook in the oven until done and tender.

Another good use was to grind the meat and mix with breakfast sausage. It made the sausage less unhealthy. If you mixed 50/50 you would need to add some more seasoning.

I am thinking that slow cooking in a crockpot with BBQ sauce would work. I am betting that a good dry rub and slow cooked whole in a smoker would be goo too. What meat isn't?

It is a mostly white meat and could be cooked like chicken or pork.

I had rabbits when i was a teen and those do make more bunnies quickly.
I should think about it again , i love fried rabbit.
I have 3 wild cotton tails in my back yard every morning. caught some young ones a few times.
Caught an adult and it was flat CRAZZZYYYY, I had to get it out of the live trap quick before it killed it'self trying to get out.

I have no idea what kind i had years ago but they got huge..2x the size of a tom cat, and they would whoop a cat quick like.

That would be Briar rabbits ,big smokers they are....8/
