Snip:
I believe this is only ONE side of the racism issues that are clogging the Heart and Soul of America today. The black versus white discrimination, the black versus black discrimination, the us versus them discrimination, etc. I want to believe that discrimination is dying off with each generation, I really do. I fear it is simply evolving and gaining notoriety with the press, the trendy folks and with the youngest generation. BLM is a prime example of hate, The Klan is a prime example of hate, the Black Panthers is a prime example of hate, the muslim brotherhood is a prime example of hate, ISIS is a prime example of hate and the list goes on and on. To say the world today feels equality for all is more important than past generations is a leap of faith I simply cannot take right now. I hope and pray they do, but all signs point to racial evolution in my opine...

Simply put, there's a lot of money to be made in the hate industry. It takes a smart and reasonable person to not fall prey to the hucksters. :(

I found an interesting article the other day about violent behaviors in cops. It had a lot of stats I'm not going to quote without having the article to link to and because Im sure Ill be labeled a cop hater. But one of the more interesting stats was about domestic violence. The national average is 1 in 4 women will be victims of Domestic Violence but according the to article that number jumped to 1 in 2 when the women were married to police officers. The article did qoute its sources and Ill be glad to try and find it again for anyone interested.

Good Gawd almighty! Do you ever get tired of whining? Apply for the job already. If you know so much about what is wrong with the profession get in there with your wrenches and fix it already! There are literally thousands of departments around the country that would love to have someone with your leadership and problem solving abilities on board.

Is it this site?

Hiding from a problem doesn't make it go away. And I'm not afraid of what anyone here will say to me because I posted this link.

I believe that police officers, in general, become officers because they WANT to do good. Sure some bad ones get in, but like we have established already that is true of any profession.

I have my own opinions as to why DV in police families is so high that I'm not looking up links and studies for, because, quite frankly, I'm not here to debate or change anyone's mind.

I'm just saying @dieseltech09 is right. It's out there and it's a real problem.

I don't hate cops. I don't love cops. They are people just like the rest of us and people have flaws.

Society, as a whole, is more accepting of violent behavior from EVERYONE ... everyone always has a good excuse for doing what they do and situations spiral out of control quickly. If you aren't the smart one in what is headed towards what could be a violent situation, you may or may not get your ass handed to you, but you will not walk away unscathed. That's just it in a nutshell.

Of course there is -- PIs, therapists, doctors and divorce attorneys make bank off situations like these. If you are married to a cop who is an abuser you HAVE to be smarter than him if you want to get out ... or stay. Lots of women feel trapped because officers have resources that "normal" guys don't and where "regular" women can call the police for help, what do you think is gonna happen when your husband's buddies show up after you've called 911??

Oh I know personally. Right before I started dating my wife, she had been dating an officer who turned out to be bad. He was ultimately fired but she suffered before he was. :(

My lay opinion is the concentration of "Type-A" personalities, exposure to all manner of human cruelty and the stress of managing unknown contacts on a daily basis, all contribute to the much higher percentage versus the regular public.
