I'm getting ready to head out and see if I can have any luck.

I had a little buck walk up to the feeder when I was dumping out some corn.

And bumped a doe and fawn on the way in.

Dad saw a nice buck trailing a doe on Friday.

Hoping hunting in the high 60s will be fun. [emoji1787]

A friend of mine and his son hunted with me this morning. At 0730 the 10 year old lays the smack down on a very nice 10 point. His first buck! The buck was following a doe. Seven minutes later, the kid said; Look dad, there's a big buck! So dad borrows son's rifle and shoots a nice 8 point. They were in the same box blind, used the same gun and killed the deer in two different fields in seven minutes. What an awesome father-son memory maker. I made it to church before I returned to the same box and saw 5 doe and 4 bucks. Great day!

Well, junior fell this morning after I hunted for two weeks straight. My buddy killed him as I had family stuff to tend to today. He's been showing up on 4 cameras in a 2 mile loop every 2-3 days. Sometimes he'd hit the same spot a few days in a row. I sat in a stand I've left alone since muzzleloader on Friday morning for 4 hours. Nothing. Camera had only a few deer. Yesterday I checked the camera at noon. Junior was there at 7am. I sat that night and a deer busted me as the wind swirled. My buddy asked where he should hunt this morning and I told him to hunt there. At 855 junior stepped out at 20 yards and was dropped with one shot.

Remember the twig vs arrow incidents? Remember the hair I found? I shoot a 4 blade muddy. Check out the 2 clear cuts in the hair and skin.

Wow that's amazing! At least you found out it would have survived and don't have to deal with that guilt.

Didn't see anything but 19 quail at my morning sit. Checked the cam card when leaving and had nothing since Thursday. Typical for that place. It's only 22 acres in the middle of a section. When the bucks start pestering the does they leave and take the bucks with them. Never has been worth a darn during the rut other than single pics of bucks making the rounds usually at night.
Moved the evening hunt to the stand that has milo all around it. Lots of does moving through. Had a big buck moving toward me from the other end of the field following a doe. He got to 525 yards, and evidently decided the doe wasn't in heat and walked back the other way.
Beautiful evening with Jupiter and Venus very bright on the horizon at sunset.
