I have some ancillary contacts who are reporting some very disturbing things across the world.
China - "there are more bodies than there are people to collect them". That's certainly not what we are hearing from the Chinese government.
Kenya - last week they were using TEAR GAS to disperse people from the markets. Last night they announced anyone posting ANYTHING on social media regarding the virus was subject to 'punishment'. Anyone want to guess what constitutes 'punishment' in central Africa during a pandemic and a government crackdown? Personally, I've seen NOTHING on national news (which I admittedly watch very little of) about Africa. But you can bet, they are reporting 6,000 cases continent-wide right now - that number is at LEAST an order of magnitude low, if not more.
People, this isn't going to get better, it's going to get worse. And the US has been insulated, we are reporting as much as we can - I guarantee you the rest of the world is NOT.
I've had a pretty conservative view of a lot of this, but I am beginning to think this is going to be very, very ugly, not just in the US, but worldwide. We could see tens of millions of deaths when it is all said and done.

Just curious, anyone heard if shootings in Chicago are up or down with the stay at home policy?
I haven't heard anything about that, but one Texoma PD (Sherman, TX IIRC?) mentioned that shoplifting reports were down because of store closures.
