The interesting thing about these number is related to South Dakota. I heard the SD governor on Hannity a couple days ago saying she did not shut down her state. She provided information and asked folks to stay home, but did not shut down restaurants, retail shopping or anything else.

The majority of SD cases are related to a pork plant that had over 400. This amazes me that the virus spread through the plant, especially thinking that the plant should be one of the most sterile places to work.

You know who owns Smithfield?

WH Group China.

What better way than to sow discord and chaos then **** up a countries food supply chain. Which China was allowed to purchase American corporations which only exist on American soil.

Trump isn't the first to come to the conclusion America needs manufacturing in key industries, doesn't mean its going to happen and create jobs, they will be HIGHLY automated factories. There is no world where we have say, 20,000 people in a single factory going forward.

I'm just curious, how are we supposed to keep foreign investors from buying US companies? Or stock or a controlling interest in? I'm just curious, not being argumentative?

Short of 'nationalizing' industries the way places like Venezuela has done in the past, I'm not sure of a good way to prevent it, when you have publicly traded stock and such.

As long as it is manufacturing here, employing our workers and paying taxes, I do not give a crap who owns it. US is better but we can always take it over during war time.

Well this is my point. I have no idea how to do this with the present situation, but if you do some research, we have sold off a lot of American businesses to forign investors. full ownership, not just stocks. Provision to require US citizenship for control or something. I am sure others are smarter than me who can see this is not a good thing. What would happen if China decided to not ship us anything and lock every plant door they have ownership control of in the US for a couple months? Would not be a good situation.
