I am getting a cheap gun safe to store my ammo because its starting to pile up in my closet and I want it to be secure. However, I don't have room for another safe in my house so I'd like to put it in my garage. Is it too humid in Oklahoma do to this? Will the ammo corrode?
Get the golden rod or a generic equivalent, and don't worry about it.
I've shot ammo that is 30 years old with no issues.
Im in the process of redoing a closest in my garage for ammo storage and Im planning on mounting a gloden rod in there once I am finished.
If you seal it up in ammo cans, it will last longer than you….
Do you guys think the heat in the garage would cause the powder To deteriorate?
My dad kept did all of his reloading equipment and stored ammo in an unattached garage in Bartlesville his whole life with no issues. I consider Bville to be swamp like conditions...............

Perhaps in some measurable way but from what I've seen, the overall effect is negligible.
I've been keeping the good stuff inside and all the rest in the shop in a sealed chest. Haven't had any problems as of yet.
