30*, roads good, everything else ice covered, 1/4" or less max........power just went out.

That sounds like NW OK. We used to live in Cimarron and Texas counties in the past, and ice storms were worse than anything else.

Now, last night we got about 1/4" of ice where we are now. At least, there was that much on the steps and landing going into our RV. Woke up this morning to 14 degrees and this panorama from said steps and landing...









While it might be colder (temperature wise) and more precipitation here, the lower humidity and being at the base of a mountain with less wind makes the colder temps easier to take than places with higher humidity and winds.

Oh, and this makes living here worthwhile as well. "Robbers at the Bird Bath."

It just looks neat when the fire is burning and shining thru all the little holes. Sparks could still come out the top. Plus, they are normally free.
