Just got back to the lower 48. Had a work trip to the Red Dog zinc mine in Northwest Alaska. I can now say I have been to Alaska. Anchorage was nice but the mine was not fun.

Is the Red Dog Mine the only built up facility in the area? Remote, far from any town? How good is the road to it? Maybe fire a .338 Lapua round, target coordinate 270 degrees magnetic, over the Chukchi Sea, and hit a tree trunk in Russia.

I would imagine so. NW Alaska is pretty sparsely populated to say the least.

Not a village in site. They made a road from the mine to the coast to load product. 52 miles long. Very deescalate there, have to charter a flight in and out.
