Thanks for all the input. A few things to add.

1. I have a good grip and know how to shoot
2. Using Wilson combat and chip McCormick magazines
3. It is finicky with different types of ammunition.

I have a old Kimber (2nd year production) that is amazing. I use the same magazines, ammunition, etc and it never has an issue. When I got the new one a couple of years ago, I didn't realize at Kimber's quality had slipped. I really like the feel of the new one, but it just aggravates me.

I know a guy in Newcastle who can tune it up. He tuned my wifes 4" 1911 as it was having issues too. A lot of her issue was her grip but there were other issues too. He fixed it right.
