Being a short order cook can absolutely be a career. Making sure the tables are wiped, filling the napkin holder and making sure there are ketchup packets in the bin definitely NOT. There is no skill needed to wrap a burger. In fact I’ve eaten at McDonald’s three times in the past 4 years with the last being a week ago because I get a craving for a Fillet-O-Fish now and then. The service was abysmal and the food looked as if someone used their feet to assemble. No ketchup, no Tea and the girl that brought me my tray had enough attitude for three people……and for half the price I could have had a nice burger at Braum’s and the people there would have treated me like they appreciated my business.

I’ve pretty much written off all the fast food joints in my home town.
McDs is probably the least horrible.
Taco Bell is Self-Serve ordering. Nope not doing your job for you.
Nobody at Braums will wait on you and their white shirts are all tan to grey in color from not being washed in weeks.
Boomerang is too expensive for the average food and the kitchen staff is suspect.
Taco Mayo is too expensive. Yup ours is pricey.
Sonic is falling apart. The drive thru is broken/closed 3 times as much as working. The girl who takes orders has a horrible speech impediment and you can’t understand her over any of the speakers.
The two pizza joints blow.
Fortunately there’s some Mexican restaurants options that are still okay.
Neighboring communities aren’t any better.
Yeah they’re worth top dollar.
