Ok, just trying to figure out where you got the measurements. Pics, depending on the angle, camera lens, can impart some goofy things about the actual object.
Damn nice rack there. Congrats to him.
Its pretty easy to do when someones holding the deer. The hands make a great scale to base off of, typical palm is about 4" wide.
Plus I've been scoring deer for about 10 years in which time I've done hundreds of....
Last 3 I've done this year I guessed within an inch before ever putting tape on. (Including that funky racked buck from a few weeks ago). It's kind of a hobby of mine, which makes it nice to have a taxi buddy who does 300 mounts a year. Plenty racks to play with. I've had plenty of conversations with Kevin Hisey (executive for P&Y) about discrepancies we've had with racks. Plus now this year doing preliminary scores for the ANGADI contest.
I'd love to put tape to that buck just to see how close my estimates are.
