Ha! Good catch. They wouldn't leave until a scrub eight showed up. I had a ton of pictures and picked those to send my 14yo son, he's the shooter on that one. Hopefully....
The neighbor got one with his truck earlier, very old deer, his teeth were worn down to nothing. Tarsels were dark brown.
Went out today. Two does came into the food plot, and browsed, but didn't hit the feeder. Just before dark a young 8 point came out, worked his scrape, and went to the feeder, cleaned it up, and left right at dark. My game cam shows lots of nocturnal activity still. Very little day time.
Spot on, he hit it about an hour ago.
Game wardens won't answer their phone, how does one go about keeping a road kill deer?
Contact a GW.............they'll give a carcass tag. If the rack is over 135", I think they'll take the rack.
Leave a message on game warden cell. Also call Sheriff's dept and inform them of the accident. All of these methods, still won't make an "old barely any teeth, hit with a truck deer" be good table fare IMO.
