Maybe we can restart the thread in General Discussion (wider audience) or have the mods transfer it over there.

It would be very cool if we had a member in or around OKC who had a place to shoot so we could meet there and teach a group of kids for those who would be interested. Said member to be the Rangemaster/Chief Instructor (If he or she wants) and a couple other of us could be Safety Officers...I'd bring a table, a couple of .22 pistols, targets, and more ammo so every kid could bust some serious caps.

I get to do this with boy scouts at the OKC gun club. I'll talk to the guy in charge of that program next time I see him. OKCGC has lots of different shoots every year, but getting everything together for an kid's shoot would be awesome. I've talked with him about a annual "Family Shoot", and if we got the NRA to sponsor it and the OKCGC's okay we could make it one heck of an event. I'll try to be more diligent in putting words to action on this.

I'll toss in 150 rounds to the cause, Edmond area. I'm taking my boy shooting next weekend if the weather is good and I'm not stuck working again.

I may take someone up on their offer once my son goes through his last bulk pack. Should only take a weekend or two of nice weather. I have been hitting the ol' WallyWorld every morning and been coming up short. Hopefully I am able to find more before he shoots all of this. I want to leave this available to someone who doesn't have any.

We just had our Ponca City Rifle and Gun club meeting tonight.
Our club has sponsored a youth shooting program that meets once a week with high end .22 target guns for over 40 years. I'm 61 and went through the same program when I was a kid.
We asked the match director tonight how he was still maintaining the training with the current ammo shortage in .22. He said he is maintaining the program with advance purchases that will make it through this years program.
Sure hope this stupidity comes to an end.
