Using off the shelf parts, you can build an AR that weighs under 3.5lbs for under $1250. That does require the use of a poly lower and lpk. At this point, any AR is a range toy, so if I’m building a featherweight gun, I’ll use poly.

Todays plastics / polymers are pretty resilient but there's things that some men just want to be steel, forged and billet are to be admired while POLY mer just doesn't hit home.. But then I hear tell masculinity is toxic nowadays..
