The extra 4 inches of barrel will help velocity slightly and that may have a minor impact on long range accuracy. With the AR system few people mount the front sight at the end of the barrel, so if you are using iron sights on the receiver and gas block the sight radius is the same for 16 or 20 inchers. If you are using optics, then barrel length is not relevant to sighting.
ARs are used in High Power competition shooting to 600 meters. Army qualifications require engaging silhouettes at 400 meters.
Get the best quality barrel you can afford in the length you prefer and your rifle will probably shoot as accurately as you are capable of shooting.
