The last time I smoked was about 36 years ago, or so. It was hard at first, but the longer I went without, the better it got. I asked a friend if he would ever quit smoking and he said “my daddy didn’t raise a quitter!”
Impressive that you have gone two days. This suggests you can make it another two, then another, and so on.

I quit in 1994. 3 packs a day - put the smokes down and walked away. I even had a pack in my pickup for 6 months. I never opened the pack, never have smoked since.

I quit. Carried 1 in my pocket for 6 months. It finally got so dry it fell apart.
Talking to friends, they say they are going to try and quit. Told them, you won't. To quit you have to decide you quit and do it. First 30 days will be rough. To stop a habit, it takes 30 days.

You have to decide first. Then do it.
You can't quit for your wife, your kids, your cousin.
You have to do it for yourself, because you want to.
Personally, I was sick of it. The smell, the constant cough, the expense, burns in clothes and upholstery; all of it.
I put it down and walked away.
Congrats and keep up the good work! After watching people suffer from the aftermath of a lifetime of smoking was enough to keep me from them. I’ve seen how hrs it is in others to give it up. Don’t stop and don’t be afraid to get help/use the resources around you if needed!
