Saw at the local feed store that they have a ton of it ....
Cheep -

If I get a square bail of it and put it by eat of my 3 feeders - will the deer eat it, or is it a waste of $$$

Thanks

For whatever reason they won't eat it in my area. We found some horse quality square bales, busted them up and even poured some corn to get them started. They picked out the corn but never touched the alfalfa.
another place we poured molassas on top of it, and they didn't touch it there either.

Could have something to do with seasoning. They'll certainly eat it un-cut in the fields. If they won't eat leafy small stemed horse hay, them deer is too picky.
