Almost anything aftermarket will be better than your factory small speakers. For bass in my opinion you will be limited by the box space. Kicker probably makes something specific for that vehicle. I have this in my 89 Fox body. With some NWA it can hurt your ears.
I've got an '04 Tahoe which has the same doors as your Silverado... or... well, it used to. We've cut out and added so much, they probably look nothing like yours now. lol I have 2 6.5" Stereo Integrity TM65 MkII in each door. So my setup is much different from what you're looking for and will eventually end up with. I've spent more on the stereo and electrical on that Tahoe than I spent on the truck 11 years ago - easily.
You need to figure out your goals and your budget first. If you're just looking for a solid upgrade from stock, off the stock headunit/amp setup, that is pretty each and Crutchfield or the like will help a lot. Simply dropping in something like that should be caek. Coupla hundred bucks, and you're off an running. Kicker, Infinity, Polk, Pioneer and on the higher end something like Focal have all been mentioned. There are, of course, many many brands that will outperform those in various areas, at various budgets.
I'd probably recommend caraudiojunkies.com or diymobileaudio.com for researching. I'm a member on both of those and there is a lot of information to learn from there. Lot of opinions, too, and we all know what those are worth.
For some reason, this was the song I always used to test a car audio system --- a good variation of bass and treble with just a touch of absolute silence!

What’s inexpensive? Are you wanting to add an amp for them? Your best bet is honestly going to be getting reasonable priced components with a small 4 channel amp. My last build used Morel speakers in a 98 Chevy single cab. They sounded great.
I used these in the front doors, with 4” speakers of the same line in the rear. Bang for your buck can’t be beat. They also have stuff all the way up to the $1k mark, but I feel that 150-300 mark is a great sweet spot.

Another vote for Kicker. I put them in every truck I have had and in my Jeep when I had it. The newer fords have the B&O sound systems and Kickers really make a difference. Also, if purchased through Crutchfield, you will more than likely get the wire harness for plug and play installation and instructions for removing the door panels. The 6x9's I put in my King Ranch were 100 bucks a pair and came with everything I needed.
Thanks for all the input! Too many brands to choose from it seems! I do not plan to tun an amp right now, just the head unit powering these. Would like to stay under $300 for both doors, closer to $200 even better. The back doors have Pioneer 4x6's currently, and front door has factory tweeters and Rockford Fosgate 6.5's; the Pioneer definitely have noise in them, so for sure need replaced. The RF's don't sound too bad so far. Might change out the head unit to a BT model for hands free phone/audio as well. Thanks again!
